This is the classic film, shot on location in pre-war Czechoslovakia,
about the golem, a popular medieval figure originating in Talmudic lore.
According to legend, this extraordinarily powerful "body without a soul"
was created in the Middle Ages by Rabbi Judah Loew in order to protect
and defend the Jewish ghetto. Here, the Jews of Prague are threatened
