JOSEPH GREEN CLASSICS ON DVD!
Over
65 years ago, Joseph Green (1900-1996) began making Yiddish movies in
Poland, collaborating with many of the outstanding artists of the Yiddish world,
both in America and Eastern Europe. The outbreak of war brought an end to that
era. These four films are a precious legacy.
Producer/director Green worked
with Ergo president Eric Goldman to restore his work. Together they saved
"Mamele" and "Der Purimshpiler." Green was satisfied that his other two films
had been properly preserved!
NEW
THE DVDs have 'extras' like
audio commentary by Joseph Green and some of the actors from the films (Molly
Picon, Miriam Kressyn, Leon Liebgold); an
introduction by Yiddish film historian Dr. Eric Goldman; a photo gallery; filmography and more.
